Lady Duracell Queen of Funk

I'm a DJ/Producer & Publisher, who specialises in house music, and I've been playing since '99, and I'm based in London, UK. In 2006 I was voted 57th worldwide and 15th UK female DJ in a poll on shejay.net. Amazing, since I had never played outside of the UK! Recently though, I played at the new Love Club in Ibiza which was like coming home for me. Ibiza was where I made the decision to teach myself to mix, I did, and the rest is her-story.

I live and breathe house music, and my tastes are very varied. From deep, soulful, west coast, latin, tech, minimal, funky, progressive tribal... Deep & soulful house is my first love, but if it's quality house music, I play it. On Vinyl, you know, old skool style.

In the early part of 2007, I was asked to choose, license, & mix the soundtrack for Nell McAndrew's next fitness DVD - Cardio, Core and Stretch, and is in the shops NOW! I used tracks from Liquid People, Audiowhores, Copyright, DJ Gregory & more.. my own track Es Paradis was featured on the mix as well as the TV and online advertising. Nell is also known for her modelling career, and her promotions for Lara Croft (Tomb Raider 3) which took her all around the world. Her first fitness DVD went straight to number 1 top-seller. Now onto the 4th, this time you can get fit to Lady Duracell in the mix!

Queen of Funk presents 'Get Lifted' is a party for deep & soulful house lovers. Previous parties were at Pacha, for Roger Sanchez Release Yourself night at Koko, and The White House, more recently Get Lifted co-hosted a party with the Swedish House Mafia - Axwell-Ingrosso-Angello at Koko. My first production 'Es Paradis' Queen Of Funk Orig. Latin Vibe Mix is a latin flavoured firing house track, and is lighting up the dancefloor's of London's airwaves & clubs. The remix is an uplifting tribal mix by myself, Queen of Funk & Lucarelli on the buttons this time.
